A Berlin company
The Pertrix firm produced batteries. During the war Pertrix used forced labourers of different origins. They included Berlin Jews, prisoners of war and Italian military internees, west European "civilian workers", "eastern" workers, and concentration camp prisoners. "Poles" were listed as a separate group. Emilia Barteczko and other Polish men and women were sent to companies to replace Jewish forced labourers. After training the Polish workers, the Jewish workers were deported to Auschwitz-Birkenau in late February 1943.
