Today, more than half a million elephants live in the wild
in Asia and Africa. The three elephant species, African
Savannah elephants, Asian elephants and African Forest
elephants, are of different sizes and builds and also have
different ears and tusks. Asian elephant cows have only
small, stumpy tusks.
