In 1911 representatives of France and Germany met again in Berlin to negotiate areas in Africa under their power. The French ambassador marked a region on the map in blue which was then supposed to belong to Germany. This enlarged the German colony of Cameroon.
Over the preceding decades, France and Germany had taken control of parts of Africa by violent means.
After losing World War One, Germany had to give back the territory known as New Cameroon to France. That area is now part of Gabon, the Republic of the Congo, the Central African Republic and the Republic of Chad.
