Ganesha, the god with the elephant’s head, is probably the best-known and most popular Hindu deity. He combines many different characteristics. He is playful, but also extremely erudite and is known as the “Remover of Obstacles”. One of his hallmark features is his single tusk. According to legend, he tore out the other tusk and used it to write down the heroic epic Mahabharata.
