A total of eighty-six rams' heads adorned the windows of the upper storey on the north and south facades. The original model from which they were made was probably created by Andreas Schlüter himself. Mass-producing the heads was the task of numerous other sculptors employed by Schlüter in his workshop. The heads from this workshop were not smoothed. Others which have a smooth surface date from later periods.
